I’m Sick And Tired of Michael Jackson! Other People Died Yesterday Too!
Yes, media attention seems to focus more in the last 48 hours on the death of Michael Jackson when another media superstar, Farrah Fawcett, died the same day. The media view of Jackson, 50, makes the family act like LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. A lot of attitude and no remorse for their actions. Jackson's life was skewed from day one, especially during the days of rumored child molestation at the Neverland ranch.
Fawcett, who made her break in Charlie's Angels, died at age 62 of anal cancer (NOTE: a bit awkward, since we have never really heard much about this!). But she was pushed to the side when news of Jackson's death popped up in breaking news headlines. Yes, for several weeks, Fawcett has been on Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and other TV tabloid shows and was in her own documentary about her battle with cancer.
Jackson, however, with his constant badgering by the paparazzi, managed to not be seen. His popularity struck the ranks of pop music to be considered "the king of pop". He couldn't exactly take away "the king of rock and roll", a title still held by the late Elvis Presley, but his girly-like behavior could take "the queen of pop" title from Madonna.
I just don't know. I think Fawcett was more popular than Jackson. That's just me. You decide for yourself…
I Get So Irritated At Internet Filters!
14% of all public libraries across the United States and Canada block sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other social networking websites. Only 4% are linked to the same network as the school district and not the local library network system.
In a 2007 networking study, it was found that 59% of all libraries who block these sites resulted in more viruses than those who didn't. It was also discovered that 1% of those who didn't block these sites resulted in a virus-infected computer.
In late April, a southern Illinois public library did an inquiry for viruses on their 42 computers, which had a filter blocking social networking websites. This three-day inquiry showed that the computers had a combined 107,515 viruses circulating through the network. It took nineteen days and $9,700 to resolve the issue. They now allow you to go on Facebook or make a tweet on Twitter.
Are the network administrators so hateful toward Facebook that they block it off? Or maybe they may be at an age that they hate the new generation of the Internet. I think this qualifies for my library and my school district I reside in.

A Memorial Day To Remember In Charlotte
For those who usually watch the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend, you were given a little surprise on Memorial Day. Because of a Sunday rain-out, the race was pushed to Monday. The longest race in the Sprint Cup would be pounded with rain all day, but after four cautions including three red flags during the downpouring in the Charlotte area, NASCAR would name Michael Waltrip Racing driver David Reutimann (00) the winner after the weather just wouldn't cooperate. Reutimann's win just put him within a handful of points away from 12th place in the point standings.
MIT OpenCourseWare
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has posted "online" classes on their website. It may look more like the instructor syllabus and student notes, but it gives you the feel of the class, whether online or structured, without taking the class online or in the classroom. The program, known as MIT OpenCourseWare, brings the classroom to you without the expense of school.

WorldWide Publications & Media Corporate Update
Earlier this month, WWPM began subcontractor work for SYNTECHS doing warranty-covered work on LCD/plasma televisions, personal computers and printers. May revenue will be $110 due to a slow month and a late start.
With the digital transition deadline for television stations being June 12, 2009 (15 days to go!), there may be technical issues for those who purchase HD and plasma televisions who may discover technical issues, but at least 10% of all VISIO televisions and between 10% and 14% for other brands have issues such as sound or worse off, a damaged part. We can do this for you, but you have to contact the manufacturer. They have to contact SYNTECHS, who will send a local technician to work on your problem. WWPM normally covers a 40-mile radius of Nokomis, Illinois, but SYNTECHS can request for WWPM to work a job outside the area (e.g. Chicago or St. Louis). Please do not call WWPM directly to fix the issues! The issue has to go through the right extensions before it gets to us.

Corporate Update: Private Trading of WWPM Will Begin Fall 2009
After a 4-2 decision by WorldWide Publications & Media's executive board of directors on Friday, April 3 (the company's monthly board meeting), WWPM has decided to allow private trading of 2 million shares.
This is how this private trading process will work:
- The eleven corporate officers and thirteen employees will hold a combined total of 60% of the stock.
- The remaining 40% will go up for sale at $0.75 a share.
- Until April 2011 or whenever the board decided to trade publicly, there will not be any dividends imposed.
- Businesses who hold stock will have voting power, individuals will have limited voting power.
- Voting power will not entitle the firing of the founding owner, CEO and chairman, Jake Leonard, but can uproot him from the presidential responsibility.
- WWPM is a limited partnership which specializes in computer sales, repairs, customization and upgrades, as well as server customization, sales and upgrades, custom business services (custom forms, PR & HR forms, website design, etc.) and custom consumer services (resume building, computer training, custom product design, etc.)
- WWPM was started as an appointment-based and Internet-based business in March 2004 in Nokomis, Illinois. In August 2005, operations were moved to Canton, Missouri while the President & CEO was in college. In November 2008, operations were temporarily moved to Rockport, Texas until January 2009, where operations returned to Nokomis.

If you may have not heard, I have been a writer there not even two days (and only three articles written, although I had another account before it was deleted) and now I'm a Syndicated Writer.

Leonard: It means that there is a chance, if my article is good enough, it may be referred to sites such as CBS Sports, FOX Sports and Google News. Next question.

Leonard: Since this is an individual account and not one on behalf of PYIR SportsCenter, it only covers any articles that I write. I may occasionally allow some guests posts on my behalf. March Madness Update and Some Other Stuff
March Madness 2009 – March 23, 2009 Update
For those who were doing their brackets and following mine at the same time on ESPN's Tournament Challenge and any tournament challenges on Facebook, my bracket has performed well.
The only issues were the following:
- Six first round losses: Ohio State, Clemson, Utah, West Virginia, Florida State and Wake Forest
- Two second round losses: Texas A&M and Maryland

WorldWide Publications & Media Update:
Last week, I mentioned on the last blog post that we started a beta-mode online television station. Since the FCC cannot regulate online television, that's one less red tape to cut through. WWPM Radio Network has had some technical issues with their current broadcaster through uBroadcast. A technical support email has been sent to uBroadcast to analyze the problem and if a compatible player can be utilized for Windows Media, RealPlayer and Quicktime media players.
It’s Too Much For Me To Handle!
It's not easy admitting I'm bipolar and easy stressed out, but things going on within WorldWide Publications & Media, the outside world and other things aren't helping my mental status.
In the last week alone, I:
- have lost my sanity during a few teleconferencing calls for business support (including the Small Business Administration)
- have resorted to eating paper to avoid going insane in business meetings
- yanked a nice chunk out of my hair working on my dream project
- got upset last night because I didn't go 16-0 on the night's games
- ran away from home and stayed at a cousin's house for a week
- have resorted to name calling toward myself because no wants to help me out
- have contemplated quitting the business world althogether
- have beaten my head against the wall because my business has no revenue
- have wanted to remain in Missouri, but circumstances won't allow it
Despite the hardships within the last week, we did manage to get some things done:
- Added more music to our radio station through uBroadcast
- Launched a live (sometimes) video feed for WWPM Radio: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wwpm-radio-live-online-feed
- Launched a beta online TV station: http://www.mogulus.com/wwpmtelevision
